I'm looking into it and have asked the sail maker what he thinks with my boom.

() I've read that the outhaul needs to be up to the task. The outhaul car on my boom rides in a SS track and is moved with a 1/2" threaded rod. Plus it has plenty of travel.
And on the sailtrack, I'm thinking because it rests in a gain cut into the boom, about an inch deep, I can't see any reason the track would interfere. Just leave it, maybe the style will come back. 
Those questions plus the combination of full battens and loose footed, I'm waiting for a reply on. Thanks got bringing it up.
