The sail has all new SS slides with special batten slides that keep them from rotating. My old sail reused the original bronze slides that were more prone to binding unless I kept the track clean and lubricated. It goes up and down as well or better than the old sail, no issues. The only differences I can think of is your wood mast and a bit more height.
