I don't know what the big deal with fully battenes mains are? I've

had one for 20 years and never had a hard time getting it up or down. I have my sail maker install standard slides 1and 1/2 inches above and below each of the battens along with the regular positioned slides and never look back. I'm sure fancy "Bat Cars" and the like would work better but good seems to be good enough in my case. I have a mast with a built in track and slug type slides. Your situation may vary. In any event, a fully battened main sail is worth the trouble to work out the kinks what ever they are. IMHO.
