I can't really say having no experience. I'm thinking with the blocks mounted not too far out from the spreader sockets, the mechanical advantage on the shroud end is small. I'm not worried about the stress on my spreaders and sockets, they're both large and strong. But I would add more attachment strength at the shroud connection, which is not as strong a connection.

I'm thinking just inside the spreader lights, or I may move those out a tad.

It seems to me the elimination of slapping and a better more open catchment shape of the upper jack lines, make it worth what ever it takes.
