The official report on the TEAM VESTAS WIND grounding last November has been released...
'lucky enough' or, simply missed the island by accident.
No matter what charts, it will be a long time before somebody slams THAT island again.
a long time??
It will seem like a looooooooong time to Team Vestas.
Some interesting tidbits you didn't report:

That's a VERY thoughful analysis...
The simplest and quickest action
Yeah, but the navigator was not using the chartplotters for passage planning/routing...
They had two detailed CMap FOBs
Amazing how quickly the paper vs electronic chart debate, has waned.
OOPS. That should read "I'm NOT as skilled of a navigator…"
Nah, you're wrong about that...
As always, your input on this stuff is greatly appreciated...

Perhaps, but I still say a quick glance at the British Admiralty or DMA chart of the Western Indian Ocean ...
I will dispute your point #1...
Pull up a raster chart of that entire ocean
I did not dispute that, just your point #1.
I would need to see an actual example
It is not a matter of resolution, it is presentation and cognition...
You just changed your argument
I have a full scale paper chart of Penobscot Bay.
If you disposed of the chart every day after you used it once, yes. We use paper charts years, not hours. ;^)))
Not charts, we dispose of newspaper every day.
I did not change (read it again
) - mainly arguing number of pixels i.e. information.

Our Nobeltec (the old one and the "new-one", after MaxSea)
In this case Cmap uses a USB FOB
Jeppson refused to provide anwsers unless they had editorial control
This paragraph bothered me:
Musical Chairs?
