The IP is out of the picture no matter what. I never thought I would say this but it is way over built for our needs and is actually difficult to sail around here. It takes someone muscling the sheets around while someone else is driving and helping. In order to get it to tack (according to the owner's manual) you have to backwind the jib each time to blow the bow over. Trying to sail this like the old Islanders will get you straight in irons.
I think it's designed to go straight, really well, for long distances. It sails flat, like a barge..........never had to worry about spilling the drinks though
I was actually thinking about a newer Hunter or Catalina with an in-mast furling system.
