Easy sailing

I have my second Freedom sailboat. The first was a 36/38 and now I have a 40/40. Freedoms are well made. They have self tacking jibs and full battened mains. They are easy to sail, they sail well and are comfortable. The 40/40 is a very powerful boat with a very large main and I would not suggest it for you. The 36/38 are great boats that are available at good prices now. Get a good surveyor who know Freedom boats. My suggestion for you would be to look at the 35 as well. It is a more modern boat than the 36/38, but may be easier for you to handle. Many people have put furling mains on their Freedoms and that seems to work well on them. If you would like a ride on the 40/40 send me a PM. If you are interested, look at the 36/38 or the 35. Freedom owners are a pretty devoted group.
Sorry to hear about your wife and best wishes for both of you.
