Nonsuch sailing ability
In Response To: Nonesuch ()

Today, there are enough Nonsuch boats racing in my area that they are given their own class. Way back when, there weren't that many and they would get lumped in with the non-spinnaker boats. And under PHRF, the Nonsuch 30 rated the same as a Tartan 30 with a 150% jib. They gave me fits! Off the wind or on a reach, I couldn't keep up - I'd only have a chance against one if there was a decent weather leg. Their sail plan is certainly 'unconventional', but they have a very efficient underbody and move through the water quite nicely. Hinterholler did a good job with them!
