Health issues and injuries can really impact sailing...

I suffered a shoulder injury a few years ago that made cranking in the jib really painful. I am also a lot less agile than I was 15 years ago. We made two major changes to the boat to accommodate those limitations. First I installed electric winches. They took the load off my shoulder. The fix for my agility limitations was to simply leave the main boom off. We now sail exclusively with the jib and mizzen. That way I don't have to leave the cockpit. For years my wife has basically been a passenger. She does cast the jib sheet off for tacks, but I handle jibes myself.

What is killing me now is boat maintenance. I have spent most of the last 45 days doing maintenance. The end of Spring work in finally in sight with launch of the second boat early next week. I really need to get rid of one boat, or both and buy something with lower maintenance requirements. Only owning one boat would be a lot cheaper too
