it is a fine sailing boat, and no more a motorsailer than any sailboat. I have sailed every size (22 - 40') and owned a 30 for quite a few years. With the addition of an electric halyard winch, very little effort to sail. The rig is self tacking, nearly self furling, and has very easy to use jiffy reefing. The only winch cranking you will ever need to do is a few turns on the choker when the sail is set. The boats sail very well (yes, to weather as well) and are usually well mannered under sail or power.
For a couple, the 30 is spacious (more like a 36' sloop), the 26 adequate.
