The anxiety relating to the rental was a part of daily life for me, seeing as our house was from the 20's in Maine and had an old furnace etc. We used a rental agent who vetted prospects and oversaw a changeover of tenants halfway through our trip. Staceys mom covered the rest. Our second renters left early in the lease (still paid rent for the months gone and gave up deposit...) and the burner quit and we lost most plumbing in our upstairs bath. Plumbers came in and repaired but when we got back to Maine, Olivia went to the upstairs bathroom first thing off the boat. When she flushed it started raining in the kitchen! Luckily I was still unemployed and was able to make it all right . Ugh. At least houses don't have to stay afloat.
