I use to surf quite a bit when I was younger, in the 60s. Surfed mostly in Surfside with Corky Carroll (name dropper!) Of course, he was a hell of a lot better and always got the waves. As I got older the water got colder and I decided to get on top of it instead of in it.

Each of the places you mentioned have their own problems climate wise. For the most part mosquitos, biting bugs and humidity but they're all interesting places we could have considered. In the end Dana Point/San Clemente is called home.

We liked the area around Oriental SC quite a bit.
