Damn, this has turned out to be some storm, eh...?

Here on the Jersey shore, I've been mostly on the northern fringes of it, but still - this has been one of the most sustained Northeasters I can remember in a long time... Can't imagine what it's been like down around Norfolk, and the Outer Banks... They've gotten just hammered, this storm will expose the folly of the sort of beachfront development that's taken place in places like Nags Head and Kitty Hawk like no other, the damage down there is gonna be significant...

3 commercial fishermen lost Wednesday night off Cape May, they were probably still out there because they were trying to make their 3,500 lb. quota of flounder before the fishery closed Wednesday night...

And the NOAA's Delaware buoy, located about 25 miles SE of Cape May, recorded wave heights of about 28 feet, the highest ever recorded at that location in the 25 years that bouy has been in place...

One thing's for sure, I won't be going anywhere near Oregon Inlet this year, I'll bet that place has really gotten messed up by this storm...

Hope Bruce the Shark, and everybody else down in the Tidewater area came through this one OK...

best regards,

Jon
