If that's the case you should have stricter boat maintenance/outfitting requirements.

If you want to go out and brave the elements then it's only good business practice to put some extra requirements to the policy. Replacing the chainplates and standing rigging, more surveys, licenses for the crew, safety equipment and plan, experience, etc.

I'm not against that. It's all about numbers.

Or, no insurance except liability and head on out.
