BTW, Dave seems to be doing well, looks like he's decided to give Bermuda a miss on this one...

Getting Lucky
Yep, Here in Beaufort, still waiting
Are you still shooting for Bermuda, and the Virgins...?
Hey Jon... plans and places.
Hey Dave & Jon: Why not Bermuda?
Well, I just don't like the idea of Bermuda this time of year, so I'll cite Don Street as my excuse... (grin)
I don't have Street's book but...
Well, Street seems pretty adamant about this...
I'll go with Street . . .
Here's what he has to say about that...
Street writes it like a broker who doesn't want to pay an insurance claim
If that's the case you should have stricter boat maintenance/outfitting requirements.
Or, like a guy who sails an enginless boat... I don't disagree, I too am a bit surprised by how conservative he is...
I should make clear, far be it from me to doubt the wisdom of Don Street, he's done that trip WAY many more times than I (nm)
One more comment, re the notion that this trip "should be quite manageable..."
It's our old friend the Gluf Stream which (link)
Well, there's that word "should" again... (pic)

I found a first edition of a Street Caribbean guide in our marina laundry room shelf last year
Back on the net
Brad...check your email. (nm)
That's great, Jeremy - I'll be looking forward to seeing the new edition...
Nah, I wouldn't make fun of anyone motoring in order to out-run an approaching storm...
