That keeps it easier for everyone. When we're "moving the boat" in delivery mode we might go as long as 12 hours.
Last summer my older son and I took the boat on a 95nm course from western CT to Stonington (RI border) in under 11 hours (average about 8.5k). Started at dawn. In the first half of the trip we had light or no wind -- motored at 7.5-8k for about 3 hours, sailed at 4-6 knots for hours, and sailed above 9 knots and as high as 15 knots in a joyride for much of the afternoon. We had planned to make the trip in two days, but had such great conditions in the afternoon we had to take advantage of it.
We went from delivery mode to vacation mode a day early, and nobody minded. From Stonington we are happy going in any direction -- short hop to Mystic, eastern Long Island, Block Island or Narragansett Bay areas. We also have gone from Menemsha to Stonington in one day, so if conditions are right we could also reach Cuttyhunk and Westport MA, though if winds are light we tend to limit legs to under-30 mile days.
