And less current. I occasionally still get invites to sail off the Portland airport area and am always reminded how seldom there's a decent wind. Far too many days of sailing back and forth across the river 'cuz you can't make any easting against the current. Far too many days of having to motor upstream so you can use the current speed downstream to create some wind...apparently. The decade I lived in Astoria we had a lot of current but at least you could count on the wind being fun.
