I'm sure that it was pretty uncomfortable conditions.

You had mentioned in an earlier post, that the reason for the diversion to the Bahamas may have been a mechanical related problem. I see on some of the news accounts, it has been reported that they were having problems with their autopilot and had been hand steering for days. That along with being seasick would not be fun!

One wonders - why were they so intent on making it through that dangerous cut, with a rage going on, and at night! Why was it that important seek protection there? Why the Abacos? Why not sail farther to the south to other protected ports and be able to make entry in the daytime?

Also, one of the reports had stated that Laura had a disability of sort...... problem using one of her hands. Something related to an injury that happened when she was a child.
