However, by your own numbers you could pick up the paper charts you need (if you want to take some time to sort them out) for not a lot more than what you spent on electronic charts $2000 vs $1600. I bought a chip for the entire eastern seaboard for $350 so I'm not opposed to GPS plotters and I took your advise and loaded the Navionics onto my Iphone (thanks!) Carrying all the paper charts available isn't really what I thought we were discussing though. In the context of being able to visualize your situation better on a general scale paper chart better than most plotters allow, I find the argument of not carrying paper charts due to cost to be somewhat lame since far fewer charts would be required.
On another note, I read the other day that this fall had 50% more rain than average. It was too bad that you had such poor weather while you were here. It snowed yesterday so at least you never got any of that!
