I've never considered myself an offshore sailor. More of a coastal cruiser with long passages under his belt.
The problem now is that age is getting the best of me. I think it would be in my best interest not to be an offshore sailor. These days I get tired more easily and fatigue is the enemy. I realized that this past year. Our last passage was an uncomfortable 2.5 days and I was getting concerned about my ability to tackle what may be thrown at me, getting injured and becoming worthless . The weather brought us to the point where neither of us wanted to cook which made things even worse. When looking back on it, the weather wasn't anything tremendously bad, it was mostly fatigue.
Being really tired with bad seas and another 200 miles to go sucks and scares me.
