to comprehend why someone choose to travel on a custom built 40+ yacht without paper charts due to cost. A Canadian chart costs $22.00 taxes in. A set of small scale charts for the Maritimes could be had for a few hundred dollars and you could rely on electronics for harbour details if desired. A full set would be more of course but probably under a boat buck. I'm not sure that that qualifies as extremely expensive or not but I've got them and I'm certainly at the other end of the pay scale. I think that the willingness too travel without paper has more to do with ones attitudes towards technology (miracle or curse) rather that an economic decision.
