You don't need to use Itunes to sync an Iphone or Ipad. There are a number of alternative programs.

I just returned from Guatemala a couple of weeks ago. There are two companies that give you curb-to-curb service from the airport ('Prime Time' & 'Super Shuttle'). I found it interesting that both companies have representatives at the curb with Ipads on a neck strap ( a bit like a cigarette girl from the 40s) to be their interface. They knew where every bus was on a map, could track it, put you in as a pickup and tell you when it would arrive.

Say what you will about Apple products. They work.
