Sure looks like the boat was on a direct tack to the Salsipuedes headland to enter Ensenada!
I don't remember any lights on the island when we passed it. But I sure remember a lot of fishing activity in the area. I know we passed it at night also, I Jill was on watch.

- You're correct that NO sensible person would set the waypoint on a fatal headland, then have an autopilot steer there.

- I a 2 mile island doesn't display on your chart plotter using any reasonable scale in that context...
