There's no reason to go wide.
In Response To: That's a good idea I never used Dan ()
For the same reason you only use the close scale. Wide doesn't serve any purpose other than seeing a little curser between 2 points on a boring ENC chart. "Hey,, we've come a long way or We have a long way to go". Nothing more.
You take it one step further than us and forget about wide altogether.
I should edit the previous post to add the 'only close' scale as an alternative.
