Suddenly you're running with scissors! 
I do rely on my chart plotter in the fog but I don't spend much(any?) time in shipping channels in the fog. It's safe especially sailing if you're paying attention.

- You're correct that NO sensible person would set the waypoint on a fatal headland, then have an autopilot steer there.
