I'm not even 60 yet, and in good shape, but damn, boat work hurts! All that bending, crawling. I did a lengthy plumbing job a few years ago when I spent the day in the cockpit locker, and when I got out, I thought I'd never straighten out again! This frankly scares me, as I look at all the projects ahead: am I up to the physical wear and tear? I'm perfectly willing and capable to do most jobs from a skills/intellect standpoint, but I dream of paying a smart and willing teenager or day laborer to help out. And as someone said, having company makes things more fun. I think longingly of time past when I derived more satisfaction from things like varnishing. Now, it's mostly just a boring chore.
