Being a doityerselfer for me was always a combo of limited money making skills coupled with 'doing' skills and also the desire to do something 'different' even though it was much the same to the casual eye.

As I have gotten older though, I have come to appreciate the saying I saw on a bumpersticker of all places, "Got a better idea? DON'T DO IT!" I look back over the years of having better ideas and find that many of them just got me into trouble making more work than was necessary to accomplish a goal.
