Of course there's nothing wrong with asking 'newbie' questions. True, everyone has to start somewhere. But, Clive was suggesting that he might buy a boat now or soon. That was what I was reacting to - not the asking of the question per se. It's not that he doesn't "deserve" to own a boat for asking these questions; it's that the asking of certain questions shows that one is not _ready_ to own a boat, imo. Buying a boat before you are ready can be a VERY expensive, and sometimes dangerous, mistake.
