Are you saying all boats? What are the "many years"?

If you two of the identical boats -- designed for ocean sailing and built with proper materials; and, one is in fresh water for (say) 10 years, and the other is sailed in salt water (maybe near Miami); and then the fresh water one joins its salt water brother, then WHAT? The fresh water one deteriotes quickly because it isn't used to salt water? Is that what you're saying?
