Valiant had major blister problems after their resin supplier reformulated their fire retardant resin without telling Valiant. Those blisters are far more severe than standard osmotic blisters.

To my knowledge there is no requirement for fire retardant resin in boats. After the '74 oil embargo the resins were reformulated to make them cheaper. That is when the blistering issue started.
