We have a 35# Delta with 30 feet of 5/16 HT chain and 270 feet of 7/16 plait. All fresh from Defender late this summer (don't ask). I guess it's true that you can still haul it up by hand and then let the windlass pull from the pile on the foredeck.
The PO installed a washdown pump, although the anchor locker hatch has to be open to use it. He had tried to install a windlass in the locker, so the hatch would have been open to use both. So now need a NFM deck fitting; indeed, costs for the "little stuff" do add up!
The wire run shouldn't be too bad and there are many Sabre owners with experience and photos to share. The RC10-8 comes with the breaker and even a cockpit up/down switch, although I'm inclined to get foot switches for the bow. (More little parts!) So far I see 1/0 cable as appropriate.
Thx all.
