One article did say it was the northern jetty... 
In Response To: I can't tell by looking at the pic ()
and mentioned that there were nav aids to the east of it to keep mariners away from it. I don't know the area or have the chart in front of me though, so I don't know if that makes sense.

- For what it's worth, according to someone close by, the boat hit the southern jetty, about 80 yards inside the inlet.
