My Marelon thru-hulls are 24 years old and seem like new

I try to lube them every year, usually by dabbing some Lanocote on the end of an artist's paintbrush and dabbing it up the closed sea cock, then opening/closing them several times. Very happy not to have to worry about electrolysis issues.

- I think that the "standard" is to ground all metal for thru-hull connections and protect it with your main zinc(s).
