I think the OEM Forespar Marelon valves are NPS, while the retail versions are NPT (my OEM Forespar valves are definitely NPS). Also, Marelon is the name of the plastic/glass compound - are you both talking about the same manufacturer of valves?

- We have a Vetus (I think) flap on our engine discharge
- It all depends on how much more you are willing to do
- You can also install a check valve in the exhaust just before the exhaust port
