when I responded, it was a possible collision. In a collision With a much larger vessel I believe that a steel hull or a 'thick heavy fiberglass hull would fare better than a 'HuntaBenaLina'. If you get sucked into a giant prop it wouldn't make much difference except for perhaps a few larger pieces.

Must have been a very short terrible nightmare.

I sware, there was one time I was sure a tanker was trying to T-bone us on purpose. I've changed course by 45 deg. And the tanker did the same. He got within a 1/2 mile and I did another 45 and he change again. At about 300 yards I maxed the engine and did a 180 and lost him. I have always thought he tried to kill us. The only thing that saved us was a big engine, radar and AIS.
