Islands, reefs, coasts we're all well aware of, get hit by sailboats. Thankfully the results are usually not so costly in life. Those onboard that go up on land can be new to sailing or well experienced, even professionals making a living out there. So I can see typical dumb complacency causing a boat to go up on that island.
But I still can't understand how a boat hitting an island then becomes a debris field out at sea. It seems there are some easy answers at the final location on the Spot tracker. I hope that is being explored as some agency must have gone to the island to see if the owner was alive?
