we have a great many things in common, your last line pretty much sums it up though. One of the reasons that I have updated the VHF, actually registered the boat with the DSC ID number and added the chartplotter is that purely selfish one. Hopefully if something happens my wife will actually activate the DSC and not just roll me over the side for fish food...:)
