reveal your basic problem(s). You have no idea if the attorney is being paid by the Kaufmanns per diem, or by a rich uncle a PAC or in some other manner. The manner of compensation to the attorney is irrelevant to the merit of the suit itself but its conflated in your mind to be a systematic flaw in American self reliant character the lack of which is demonstrated by the kaufmanns of failure to suck it up-itsem and the nature of the social compact. Bad steel in a building, bad engineering in a hip replacement, sat phones sold the the promise of connectivity--suck it up when they don't deliver or worse change the subject to how is money going to bring back or restore to health so its all about money. That's not the issue at all. Its about responsibility, if any, which every manufacture wishes to avoid, limit or deny.
Now whether this suit has any merit or not--this I don not know but it seems that a good case can be made for not turning off vital promised service which leads to damages.
