As always, you make a good case... No doubt this suit may have some merit, I'm just expressing my general annoyance that this incident gained such widespread notoriety to begin with, and now it has come to this. Perhaps they might be entitled to something in the form of damages, but I still think it's a REAL stretch to come up with a direct like between the loss of their satphone service, and the ultimate loss of the boat...

I've decided to hang out here another day, this is such a delightful spot. All day yesterday, the local kids were swimming and diving - completely 'unsupervised' - from this pier, it was a scene straight out of the 50s or 60s, and a bit hard to imagine it being permitted in many similar spots in the States today... I think there's a faded painted warning "Dive At Your Own Risk" around somewhere on the pier, but that's about it... (grin)
