Actually for me, I wondered why they scuttled the boat?

? () I can envision the wife and kids being taken off the boat to tend to the youngster but surely an experienced sailor like him could have headed for port somewhere? I dunno what happened not being there. Does the rescue crew require all to get off the boat?
