All devices... what about bilge pump?

() I have yet to install an electric bilge pump on my boat... I have a very dry bilge, but I am considering an electric pump for emergency situations... something I hope to never use.
I am considering a direct connection to at least one of the batteries, and an alarm. That connection would violate what I now have... everything goes through the master switch(s).
Is there a proper way to do this... obviously a fuse close to the battery...
