I was going to ask you but hit enter to soon. How

did it happen. I've gotten lucky a couple of times and I always feel like I've dodged a bullet. I got out of a channel once and hit a rock but it was right on the bottom of the keel. I ran into an inland coastal navigation post once (very embarrassing, something my wife will never let me forget), I've run aground a few times but always soft sand, and I've been on three different boats that have had fires on board (only one was mine). I'm sure I could think about it and come up with a few more near misses but I try not to dwell on the negatives. That's all over a pretty long time span but I still feel pretty lucky that I've always been able to keep the water on the outside. Mostly. I'd rather be lucky then good.
