Battery selector switch idea.
Safety switch?
David, perhaps I can clarify
Does your panel have....
Yes Brian a master breaker is what I am installing
Can you relocate your switch?
I could but
As Brian and others have suggested, proper disconnect is really the way to go.
I must be missing something?
You had a disconnect 1-both-2 or off?
Yes that is correct
You should, beyond a fuse, be able to kill the power delivered from the batteries to ALL devices downstream
SG thank you for your input
Does it disconnect the batteries from the engine and everything else?
How much is the blue seas breaker and box?
You could draw a multiple of 50 Amps momentarily to start the engine
All devices... what about bilge pump?

I've dodged a lot of bullets myself, but this one hit me right between the eyes.
Wow! Catastrophic.
Oh... That would spoil your entire day!

Later, me on the left helping Benny
I look at a counter as a necessity
An audible alarm works for me...
Shower water into the bilge?
My previous owner actually drilled a hole in the shower pan
Mine has a drain...
Brian, I suppos that if you didn't live aboard and having two of us shower
I hear ya...
So you shunned being a dirt dweller as well.
We are dirt dwellers now...
Tried several alternatives...
