We are not contemplating leaving this cruising life - we can't imagine doing anything else right now. I was responding to your comment to never sail our boat with all of our living gear taken off of it. It was contemplating having all our stuff off it that was difficult and sad because that assumes we are no longer cruising.
On the other hand, I once watched a cruising boat in Georgetown Bahamas before the cruiser's races completely strip his boat bare of all gear, including much of the furnishings and cabinetry, pile it all on the beach and hired several guys to watch over it while he took his boat off to the races. Apparently, he wins every year and is not supposed to be beat. It was the first time in Georgetown for the boat who beat him, so they must have not got the notice yet. That was a big controversy down there at the time.
Since the thought of suffering Georgetown again is as painful as the thought of not living aboard our boat, I guess we are safe from the temptation to see how fast we are without all our "stuff"!
