One leans more toward carrying on father, longer. The other feels satisfaction in the last few years of arduous sailing but is getting tugged by goals not yet met, back onshore.
Both committed career suicide(hard to avoid in their case) but are young enough for an easy re-start. They also have a home to go back to, family nearby. It will be interesting to see where they go.
If they do leave the cruising life, they'll be much better for it and more successful onshore. I think that success comes from just doing things your way, like cruising or whatever lifestyle you choose. You're not afraid to do-try most anything in life.
