When I first cruised, back in the early 80's, we did about the same, BUT
In Response To: I don't understand why you cringe ()
we packed a bunch of "stuff" up and rented a small storage space, paid for monthly. When the situation changed, and we moved back ashore we emptied that storage room and move all the "stuff" to the new place. And began unpacking the "stuff" we had felt we just HAD to keep.
And the constant theme was-"WHY did we KEEP all this crap, and WHY in the world did we pay storage on it for 3 years!!!"
You KNOW where 95 % of it went.
I heard once the difference between "stuff" and "junk"
STUFF is the junk you keep.
JUNK is the stuff you toss
