When I'm motoring along and the water temperature is just above freezing, the air temp is not that much warmer, and it's raining, I think about getting a full enclosure. It's just a pilothouse for a small, aft cockpit boat. And I'm halfway there already. The previous owners added a stainless steel "cage" that encloses the cockpit. After I put up the weather cloths and the connecting piece between the bimini and dodger, it would be just a small step to go all the way. And it would be so much more comfortable. As long as it's removable for sailing.

And then there's the extra living space a full enclosure would provide when at dock or anchor in inclement weather.
