Crap on de back
Another look
In Utila Honduras
That's thinking outside of the box, er making a bigger box!
You should'a changed the graphics to "Manta 42"
This way maybe he can slide by
It is surprising how many places just take your word for it...
That's funny!
Our sail cover says "Malö 41" and we're 42'10" overall
Ouch, tell me about it...
in our marina you pay for the slip, based on IT's length
Still the most reasonable marina anywhere around
ever notice that visiting rates are quoted by the foot...
I look at it this way
Perhaps change the graphics to 40+
Brilliant! Drastic! Rarely do cruisers admit extra weight slows them down.
Hard to hide the fact that your bottom steps are underwater!
There is that 'I don't like the way you cruise', thing...
I wasn't clear
I see. Some new friends out cruising are looking at closing the adventure.
Reminds me of Eric Bogle's "Safe in the Harbor" chorus
Fine words. Parts of my friends are torn.
After my first round of "cruising" I
Steve.......
I cringe when I see a middle aged or older couples, 'sell it all and sail away,...'
During our time....
We ran into some of them our selves.
Saw a lot of that in the Caribbean...
I don't understand why you cringe
When I first cruised, back in the early 80's, we did about the same, BUT
George Carlin routine on 'stuff'. (youtube)
What about money?
Yes, we have savings
Good point
I had figured you in the 'young' context, Mark.
Might be heresy on this board
We spent most of our time either
We both committed career suicide
Cringing is only if we can see (or think based on simple observation) that
Coming up on five years living aboard and the boat is home
That sounds like a great way to live.
Tom, check out airbnb.com
That's very interesting. I bookmarked it, thanks Larry.
Weight is an under-rated factor in performance
Not if you sail a multihull
I think you misread "under-rated" as "over-rated"
No, Weight is not underrated.
OK - lack of weight is under-rated
Mark, that is AWESOME... Great job, really improves the look of the boat as well, makes it look even faster (grin)
Ultimate 'crap on de back'
Motor boat with a mast?
In his defense, the boat is so small
The roof looks like a rain catcher
You got it! Everyone needs fresh water.
If he'd raised the boom..
That's looking mighty good to me right now.
Having done the ICW a few times, those enclosures make perfect sense to me.
Yeah boy. First time I came south in the ICW was in November, from Annapolis
Oh! the advantages of a pilothouse!
LOL- forgot ski mitts-
Yeah, we had to buy ski mitts in Nags Head. Ever look for ski mitts in Nags Head?
Sorta like me trying to buy an all wool stocking cap, here on the Texas coast!! Usual response was "huh???"
Or like trying to buy pink antifreeze
I couldn't find it in Florida either, but for a different reason...
Must have been Jan, 2010. I was in Punta Gorda and it was 23 degrees. Never got above 30 for 10 days. News was saying
wow, even the grocery store here stocks pink antifreeze..
