It has easy to follow instructions on building a grating and many other boat carpentry projects. Priceless source. For example, I built a bread cutting board with the leftover strips from the cockpit grating. Sold the boat, still have the breadboard.

- Was going to suggest Ipe. I've used it a good bit as a replacement for Teak Works well, but hard.
