I have a frigoboat keel cooled system with a small freezer evaporator in the well insulated ice box.

I have 1 75 watt solar panel and a balmar 100 amp alternator (maybe get 75 amps out of it)

I have to run the engine for an hour or so every two days to keep up. while traveling this is not a problem, but if just anchored, I admit that that is my least favorite time of day. I was hoping to get another solar panel to add, but haven't yet.

The solar panel keeps up with the refrigerator if the days are sunny. The extra is just anchor light and stereo and lights, and the vhf and ssb. Throw in the occasional movie and we use about 80-110 amps a day.

our battery bank is a 420 amp hour one. We never let it get down below half. We sail in the south florida and keys and bahamas area in the winter/spring.
